North American T-28D, PR-YZB, of the INTROMET - Institute of Tropical Meteorology.

******************************************************************************************

This is a updated version of the T-28 adapted to do meteorological research in the tropics for the INTROMET. The past version - for FS 2002 - has had more than 3650 downloads.
This is a repainting of Tim Conrad's excellent model, with high detail, reflective textures, full animations and Virtual Cockpit.
As this is not a warplane, some effort is required to imagine weather probes in place of machine guns. Anyway I thought this model would suit better than the T-28C with a tailhook. The engine power was increased a little bit to compensate for the lower weight.
Powered by a 1425 hp Wright Engine, this aircraft is very fast, robust and nice to fly around. She can take off from small airports and with full flaps land in very short runways.
I also included the very good panel made by Michael Vader.
I 've made some improvements, including a smaller throttle panel which is very handy for continuous control of fuel mixture and pitch control during the flight.

INSTALLATION:

1 - Unzip the contents of this pack to a temporay folder.

2 - Move the T28D Intromet folder to the Flight Simulator 9\AIRCRAFT folder.

3 - Move the files inside the gauges folder to the main Flight Simulator 9\GAUGES folder.

NOTES:

A - The sound is set to use Ford Trimotor sound. If you prefer something louder/stronger, you'll enjoy the Warbird sound set (WBIRD.ZIP), by Mike Hambly. There is also the T28SNZ.ZIP from Aaron R. Swindle Skysong Soundworks. Both can be downloaded from SurClaro.

B - The cockpit lighting at night was set to a minimum, in order to improve outside visibility. If you wish to increase light intensity, open the panel.cfg file and increase the Night values for panel and Luminous values for the gauges lighting:

[Color]
Day=255,255,255
Night=72,60,48
Luminous=140,160,140

THANKS

For Tim Conrad for the fantastic T-28 model and for Michael Vader for his great panel.
Please read both authors readme files included.
